I am trying to install a version of XP that my friend has on my computer, but
I keep getting an error saying that my current version is newer. I still
want to uninstall my current version; because the disk I have from my friend
had a better version of office on it.
How do I uninstall my current version of XP so I can install from the disk?

XP installation CDs don't normally have Office on them so I don't really
understand your post. Are you trying to do a clean install? If so boot
from the XP installation CD, delete the partition where the current install
of XP resides, and install XP to that space.

If you are trying to install from your friends recovery disks, then it is
most unlikely to work as they will be locked to the PC they were supplied
with.
