how do i uninstall windows xp (reatil version) so i can put it on another
computer and have it activated?

You don't "uninstall" XP, per se. Just format the HD. Also, the Windows
activation process is not affected by whether or not you've got it installed
on any other machine. It operates on certain parameters defined by your
hardware (ie, a significant change in your hardware will cause you to be
prompted to reactivate Windows) and whether or not you've activated it in
the last 120 days.
 
1. Open your BIOS and set your "CD Drive as the first bootable device".

2. Insert your Windows XP CD in the CD Drive and reboot your computer.

3. You'll see a message to boot to the CD....follow the instructions.

4. The setup menu will appear and you should elect to delete all the existing
Windows partitions.
