Getting really fed up now, Tried to install a Scanner via
LPT1: unfortunately didn't come with XP drivers.
Have since got 2K drivers, which should work.
Tried to add scanner from "Scanners & Cameras" in Control
panel. Not been successful.

Problem is I now have 2 entries in Device Manager for an
unknown device, under Imaging.
Just want to get rid of these entries.

Tried right click & uninstall, doesn't work!
"Failed to uninstall the device. The device may be
required to boot up the computer"
Tried in safe mode, still no luck
Disabled device, then tried to uninstall, still no luck
also in safe mode.
Searched registry for scanner, found 2 entries, can't
delete registry entries, even in safe mode.

Help !!!
Thank you

You will notice that there is am "add hardware" also on the
control panel.
Use regedit and you can remove the entries.

Did you physically disconnect the scanner before you tried
to remove it with device manager?

Thanks for replying
Tried to add using add hardware from control panel also!
Yes scanner was physically disconnected when trying to
uninstall.
Regedit will NOT let me delete the scanner entries

Thanks anyway
