To make a long story short, I installed Vista on a computer that was already
running Vista, but for whatever reason it installed on the d drive which is
labeled recovery. Everything works fine, but to install anything else is
impossible because the d drive is now full. How do I uninstall it from the d
drive?

Boot into the other installation of Vista, which assume would be on the C:
drive, open Computer > right click the D: and click Format. I must note that
the Recovery partition is used to reinstall your Operating system and
applications to its factory state. Do you have recovery disks for that PC?
Because you won't be able to access the recovery software anymore since you
will be formatting the partition on which it was stored.
