Please can anyone help. I have 2 software programs that I have been trying to
uninstall from the control panel, but they will not shift, one message is
catastrophic error, and the other says windows patch could not be verified.
Both of these programs, cannot now be reinstalled or uninstalled. I have been
in touch with both software companies, but all the things they have
suggested, have come to nothing.
Please HELP.

It always helps to know the names of the programs that are giving you
problems. Sometimes responders may have personal experience with
those applications. You are saying that both uninstalls failed ?. Is the PC
free of Spyware/Malware ? You might be able to take the system state
back a couple of days (System Restore). Clean the PC up, with the mix
of AdAware, SpyBot and MS AntiSpyware and then re-attempt your
uninstall operations.

I have done all you have suggested, including system restore etc.
The names of the programs are. Scrapbookfactory deluxe version2
and PED Basic version1.

- using jv16 powertools -> software management : check the programs entries
( sort by company name or program name) the below remove
- ctrl-alt-del to call the task-manager and close the entries for these
programs ( if any)
- erase the folders where they are installed
- reboot

I did a quick search for any issues with uninstalling those 2 apps.
Nothing turned up on a Google search. I would use Explorer to
navigate to the Program Files folder the applications are installed
to. Locate an Uninstall (.Exe) and run the uninstaller directly. If
it doesn't work, it may be due to a .Log of the original install not
being found or perhaps Registry keys/values missing. I would try
to uninstall the Scrapbook program before the Basic.

Thank you Moi
eme, It worked for PED BASIC.
but not the other one, only now in the add, remove program it does not come
up as an item to delete, it just shows when it was last used. Any ideas please

Can you be more precise ? Thus remains "something" of Scrapbookfactory
deluxe : right ?
- it doesn't show up anymore in add/remove ?
- is it still on the hard disk somewhere ( where you installed it) ?
- what does remain of it ? Where ?

Donwlaod trial versiopn of "your uninstaller deluxe" and install it
Now try to install "Scrapbookfactory deluxe" again via your uninstaller. If
that works, uninstall now via "your unistaller". It should be able to remove
anything it has monitored during the install.

Keep informed plz.
Good luck

I am sorry I was not clear, its like this, In the Control panel, when I click
on add/delet programs. It is still titled in the list, but when I click on it
to remove it, the remove words are not there it only says last used on. it
still has 535mb beside it.

But do you still have the program somewher on your hard drives ? Maybe it is
only the add-remove entry that is persisting, and nothing else.

jv16 Powertools could delete that entry or you can do it manually : see
http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/110/

Of course firts check that the program is no more installed on your hard
drives
