In Add/Remove Programs most of my programs do not have a change/Remove
button. What do I need to do. Pleeeeeesssseeeee help.

Hi,

Go to Start => Run and type in "regedit" {without the quotes}

Navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\<Program
Name>

For each program that's missing the Remove and Change buttons:

In the right-hand pane:

Double-click on NoRemove and set its value to 0
Double-click on NoModify and set its value to 0

If NoRemove is set to 1, the Remove button will be unavailable
If NoModify is set to 1, the Change button will be unavailable

You were right, there were alot of programs that had the value of 1 in for
repair and modify. However, this did not fix the problem. One thing that I
noticed was in the uninstall folder where you told me to go, the programs
were not listed by name but by a 8 digit combination of 2 letters and 6
numbers. Any more ideas? Thanks for your help.

Hello again,

Yes, some are listed by those long numbers, but if you look in the
right-hand pane for "DisplayName" this will tell you which program they
refer to.

Also, after you've changed those Values, restart the computer.

In the name area, almost every one of them say windows secureity updat or
just windows update. There are only 5 programs that dont have all of the
numbers and those do show the change/remove tab. However, there are probably
40 -50 programs when I go into "Add/Remove Programs".

i tried to install an older game, the program did not respond. after ending
the program, i tried to uninstall the game, but it said the file was
corrupted. i would like to know how to uninstall this please.

i need help too. i have tried to uninstall programs and get messages such as
shellmanager is currupt or missing, and sometimes install error? i dont know
what to do???
