Uninstalling Mcafee and what happens to the winsock

I recently uninstalled mcafee virus scan and immediately after could not access the internet. I have run into a few people that this has happened to and have heard that it somehow changes the winsock? I need help and don't have the original installation disks for the computer. I have reinstalled Mcafee. Nothing works.

Give LSP-Fix (free) from <http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm> a shot.

Try using a program called LSP-Fix

It supposedly replaces your tcp/ip registry settings. In my case I
still had to use a system restore point. I also had to re-install
McAfee then un-install again. Everything worked the second time around.

Has anybody had any problems with their outbound (incoming still works)
E-mail not working after uninstalling McAfee?
