Since I can't see your computer, I can't say for sure that you had the
errors but you can't believe anything that the malware told you. This
kind of malware is trying to blackmail you into paying them for "fixes"
of stuff that may not even exist.

You should be doing normal maintenance, including scanning for malware
on a regular basis. Here are links to help you with that:

http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Maintenance

So go ahead and do the general scanning for viruses and malware (if you
haven't already) and that will set your mind at ease.

Then it's a good thing you're doing the malware/virus scanning. Don't
forget to do the scans in Safe Mode.

Good luck,

Malke

To boot into safe mode restart the computer. As the BIOS splash screen
disappears repeatedly tap the F8 key until the Advanced Options menu
appears, containing several choices among which is Safe Mode. Highlight
that and press enter. Login to your normal account. The display will be
different with safe mode at the four corners. All scans for malware should
be done in safe mode. After you are done restart normally.
