How can I uninstall Windows XP Home Edition when it
doesn't appear in the automatic Install/Uninstall box?
I installed XP but do not wish now to activate it (which
may be why it doesn't register in the Programmes Installed
box). Any helpful suggestions (which wouldn't upset my
Windows 98 which I have reverted to)?

You would need to re-format your computer as your using
xp to go into the add/remove programs screen so it wont
let you delete itself.

Once you've re-formatted just install win98, or you could
just try installing 98 over xp and see if the computer
deletes xp via 98. Hope thats not too confusing

If you installed XP as an upgrade to 98, chose the installation
option to save the previous operating system, and didn't convert
your drive to NTFS, you would see the option to uninstall it in
Add/Remove Programs. If you don't see that option, one or more of
those things is not true, and you can't revert to Windows 98.

If you want to go back to 98, your only choice at this point is
to back up your data, reformat, and install 98 cleanly.
