Uninstall vista

I have just brought a new computer with xp media (Vista capable). I brought
the Vista upgrade (32 bit) at the time, but am debating whether to install or
not. If I do install and have problems can I uninstall later? Is the Xp OS on
the recovery disk that came with the computer (Toshiba)?


I also ran the update advisor program and it tells me that it 'cannot find
information' of certain devices (eg NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300). Does that mean I
lose these functions if I upgrade?

Would be grateful for any advice.

If it came with Windows XP Media Center Edition - it should have come with a
method to restore it to 'like purchased' state. In other words - it should
have come with either CDs/DVDs or a partition to allow you to restore to the
same state it was bought in. However - if you 'upgrade' to Windows Vista -
you may lose said partition/method. Who can tell you for sure? Toshiba.
They are the ones who manufactured said system and gave you said options.

As for whether or not you will lose functionality - maybe. Again - this is
a question you should ask of the system manufacturer. If you have hardware
drivers for all of the hardware you have for Windows Vista as well as
Windows XP - then you should be able to run either OS on the computer with
no trouble in as far as strictly the OS and its operations go.
