Uninstall/reinstall Mcafee Active Shield

I've tried but it say's Active Shield is running so it can't be uninstalled!
How do I deactivate Active Shield so I can unistall/reinstall it?
 
Start up the McAfee scan and after it starts click on Cancel to stop the scan
and click OK should do the trick... if I recall correctly. You just need to
stop McAfee from running in the back ground in order to uninstall it from
Add/Remove.
