Too many problems w/ IE 6. to list, even to uninstall it.
I would like to uninstall then reinstall due too many
corruption.
OS,2000 pro. There is no IE in Add/Remove Programs in
Control Panel to remove and it wouldn't let me reinstall.
I have installed SP4_EN for Window2000 and SP1 and other
patching SPs. It's still hopelessly with an infected IE
browser. Please advise.
Thank you very very much.

Are you sure you didn't already uninstall IE 6? That
might explain IE not being listed. Check the version# in
IE's Help/About Internet Explorer. If that is the case,
then try reinstalling IE 6, if you want to. I'd hope it's
that simple. Other than that, I would be at a loss what
is happening (not too familiar with Windows 2000, I
apologize). You might want to repost if that didn't
help. The posts to this site number in what seems the
hundreds every day.

Try an IE Repair first (to see what it thinks is broken)
Run... (e.g. press Win-R and enter:)
rundll32 setupwbv.dll,IE6Maintenance

Note: entry point name is case sensitive.

If that doesn't result in error messages it will want to reboot
so you might as well shut down all other applications first.
Also, the repair phase actually occurs during the reboot
so to avoid the possibility of interference with that
you should temporarily disable your security programs
(e.g. virus scanner, etc.).

If you have a version of IE to go back to the same command
may let you try that if you really want to.

Good luck

Thank you for your trying. I did the hard way, backingup
my data and restored my PC. It took tơo much time; but
it's ok now. Thanks
