Hi,
this is just to share a "little" discovery we made today, and which we had
never come across in MS documentation (admittedly we didn't carry out a full
search of all articles in the Knowledge Base).
We have a SQLServer2000 database that stores Unicode16 characters and we
were not seeing some special characters (subscripts - which are pretty
common I'd say) on some of our XP machines.
It turns out that you need to select Regional and Language Options -
Languages and then select both radio button options for Supplemental
Language support. So in reality, the default XP installation DOES NOT really
offer full support for Unicode16.
Once again, the lack of clarity in MS documentation is beyond
belief....(excuse the sarcasm)
