Hi, I did a 'quick format' of an NTFS partition with FAT32. Is there a way
to undo the process as there is one file (300Mb) on the partition that i
forgot to archive.

I am using Win XP Pro.

Thanks in advance,
matt

Hello

If you already perform the format the data gone, how ever
can sed your drive off to a clean room and they will be able
to recovery what dadta you need, but that get expensive.

Their are some 3rd party software out but they may and maybe
resolve your situation.

Hi thanks for that Alvin but as I understand it, formatting (espcially a
quick format) does NOT erase files and data, it just modifies how the disc
is seen by windows. It does this by destroying the FAT table and re-writes
the boot sector. So the data is still there, i just need a (free) utility
to help me sort it out. Can anyone help please?

Thanks for the suggestions folks. All of the links are for very pricey
software though. There must be some freeware out there...any ideas? Thanks.
