After applying SP1 to Outlook 2003, the list of default Level 1 extensions
has changed. I noticed that asp files are now blocked. They became unblocked
after I added asp to the Level1Remove registry value. The asp extension was
not
previously blocked by default. I was able to confirm this with PSS, which
provided this page as the ONLY documentation which has been updated with
correct information:
http://office.microsoft.com/assista...ID=HP030850041033&CTT=4&Origin=CH062556131033

The seemingly-authoritative pages below have NOT been updated as of today:
http://www.microsoft.com/office/ork/2003/three/ch12/OutG07.htm
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=829982
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=872839

There are many other pages on the web which have copies of the outdated
list, including some very popular resources like Sue Mosher's (which I'm
sure will get updated quickly):

This affects Attachment Options and similar utilities. The current version
of Attachment Options as of today (1.8.15) does not display the correct file
extensions list when used with SP1. (I have cc'ed this post to Slovak, so it
will probably get updated quickly as well. If you use one of the other
programs, you may want to alert the author.)

I documented the changes in my Exchange & Outlook UPDATE e-newsletter column
last week, but that's not available on the http://www.winnetmag.com site
yet, alas.

FYI, Diane Poremsky runs Slipstick.com now, not me.

Yes, those are the same restricted extensions added to Outlook 2002 in SP3.
I plan to update Attachment Options in the next few days to handle the new
restrictions in Outlook 2003 SP1. I was waiting for the release of SP1 to
see if things changed any from the beta release candidate.
