underlying query for report

Hi all
I've got a report which is based on a query. The filters for the query come
from a form.
If the form is open I check if there is no data and cancel the action.
However when the form isn't open and I try to open the report I get message
boxes asking for parameter values from the form. Is there a way that I can
cancel opening the report if the form isn't open?
