My Internet Explorer (Ver 6.0.28) recently had it's home
page changed from a virus, I believe. I went to
Tools/Internet Options to go to the General tab to reset
the home page and the tab's gone. I uninstalled back to
version 5 and back up to 6 but still no General Tab. Is
there a way to get this tab back or another way to set my
homepage?
thx

Hi Bill,

Remove IE Restrictions & Restore Missing tabs. Download a fix from:
http://www.angelfire.com/dragon/sramesh2k/reg/IE_reset_restrictions.reg

The problem may be due to:

1. A spyware. Download Ad-Aware from www.lavasoftusa.com, scan the system
and eliminate the malware products. Re-apply the above fix if necessary.
** Remember to update the pattern file using WebUpdate in Ad-Aware **

( Caused by a malware called CoolWebSearch. Also, Download:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/cwshredder.zip )

2. You have enabled SpyBot immunize (protection) feature or any other
similar software.
