This has not been the case until a few months ago, but whenever I accept or
send a file (any format so far), I get kicked off the Internet.

I am on a broadband connection (Fredom2Surf) and I use a D-link wireless
router/modem to connect to the Internet and one other machine in the house.
I have the latest ZoneAlarm Pro installed, plus Norton Systemworks 2003 Pro,
Norton Internet Security Pro 2003 and Norton Anti-virus Pro 2003. I don't
have my firewall turned on on my router though. I have MSN Messenger 6.1
installed, I have tried transferring files from my Trillian logon to MSN and
it fails, I've tried from one Trillian MSN account to another and it fails
and I've tried transferring from MSN Messenger to my Trillian logon and
that's when it kicks me off the Net (it doesn't seem to get pass
establishing file transfer). When I do get kicked off it kicks the other
machine on the network off the Internet too. :-(

I've disabled the option to protect MSN Messenger in Internet Security 2003
as I thought this might be blocking the files. The strange thing is though,
I AM able to transfer back and forth to ONE particular person (no one else
so far) - very strange.

I don't have Windows Messenger installed at the moment, but I could try
transferring files via that.

Any ideas why this is happening?

It might be related but I cannot set up an audio chat in MSN Messenger with
one of the people I'm having transfer problems with (see my other mail in
this newsgroup).

Update on this:

I have uninstalled ZoneAlarm and all my Norton software and put on a
friend's McAfee Professional (latest version I think) and Agnitum Outpost
Firewall Pro 2, plus I've put on a trial version of PestPatrol (though it
looks like McAfee has a spyware scanner).

So, with all new software I still cannot get transfers to work. I've
actually turned everything off (not uninstalled just turned off) and it
still doesn't work. I've also got one MSN contact to turn their firewall
and AV software off as well and still it doesn't work. :-(

This leads me to thinking it's something to do with the ISP, the router, or
something in WindowsXP Pro???

It's really bugging me, so hope someone can help?
