Are you using a set of Windows XP setup floppy disks? If you are,
you're using the wrong set:

Obtaining Windows XP Setup Boot Disks
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;310994

There are two different versions of setup disks for Windows XP.
If you have a Windows XP CD without Service Pack 1, you need to use
the first set listed. If you have a Windows XP CD that includes SP1,
then use the ones listed at the bottom of the page.

Wow, you waited 14 minutes before asking.

1. You have the wrong floppy set for your XP CD.

2. The XP CD is bootable. Enter BIOS and set it to boot from CD-ROM 1st.

3. Use OE for your newsreader, it's much easier than the web reader.

Thanks for your response. I will check it out. And let
you know. My bios is set to boot from CD. It doesn't
mention anything about SP1 on the package...where do I
look?

I read the page you referred me to.... duh. And it is on
the disk....SP1. I did down load the wrong set of
files...I will try again with the proper set. Thanks again
