Unable to use Search in Explorer HELP

Hi,

Ran into a spyware prob the other day and got most of it fixed bar one. The
"Search" Option is missing in the Taskbar and Startup Options. It used be
available along with "Run" and "Help and Support" but now its not. I'm not
sure where to fix this in the registry and I haven't been succesful finding
the answer in microsoft's knowledge base.

Also search feature does not do anything when I click on it in Explorer when
I want to find files. It does not bring up the search companion either. I've
tried to reinstall the Search companion from my Xp cd but nothing has changed

ANY help fix this prob would be appreicated.
