I have just replaced my motherboard and processor and
reinstalled windows as it wasnt booting. However, it
doesnt seem to have installed dial-up networking. When I
try and configure a new connection, the options for using
a dial-up are greyed out. Remote Access auto Connection
manager is also not working. I have tried to reinstall
windows again, and have also installed all the optional
components that I could find on the windows disk, but I
cant find anywhere where it gives me the option to repair
Dial-up networking. Can anyone help please? Its driving
me mad!

Oddly, I am having the exact same problem. I checked the status of my modem and Windows recognizes it and it works fine. All this after an upgrade from XP home to professional. Definitely interested in a solution.

Is your modem ok in the system devices manager window? I you go to
control panel then modems then properties then diags then query modem
does that work? If not re install the driver or try another modem.
office max has them for free after rebate this week.
