I have little knowledge about XP. When I used Windows 98SE I was able to set
my file attributes to 'archive' in Windows Explorer on my hard drive and then
store the files on CD's. Using an Adaptec/Roxio programme I was also able to
work on/manipulate files ON the CD itself and SAVE the results ON the CD
without having to drag the file to my hard drive, owrk on it and put it back
again.
I can't do any of this with Windows XP. In fact, if I drag a file from the
CD to Hard drive, work on it and then try to drag it back to the CD, Roxio 7
wants to erase ALL of the material on the Data CD before burning the altered
file (tho' I suspect this is an issue with the Roxio programme.)
My main beef is, 'Why can't I change the attributes on my hard drive to
'archive'?
Any help for a beginner will be appreciated.
