I read you can't upgrade from 2000 to XP. We have approx. 90 computers to
change to XP, do you have to perform a full format to change to XP?

Only an upgrade from Windows 2000 to Windows XP HOME is
prohibited. 2000 must be laterally upgraded to it's XP equivalent
which is XP Professional. Home is a sub-set of Professional so an
upgrade from 2000 to XP home would be a feature downgrade.

You read wrong. Upgrading from Windows 2000 Professional to Windows XP
Professional *is* supported.

However, going from Windows 2000 Professional to Windows XP *Home* is
considered a downgrade and is not supported.

Likewise, you can not upgrade Windows 2000 server to XP. You can only got to
Windows 2003 Server, since both are server grade systems.

Don't go to that source for computer information; it's completely wrong.

No, you don't have to.
