Hi members,

(I am running Windows XP Pro SP-2)

Strange thing (always worked before) but now when I go to syncrhonize clock
time over the internet, as described below:

Actions taken -
Double click time in the system tray, which brings up date and time
properties
Click Internet tab
Click Update Now button

Result:
Then I get the following message returned:
"An error occured while Windows was synchronizing with time.windows.com. The
time sample was rejected because: The peer's stratum is less than the host's
stratum."

This error occurs even if I switch time.nist.gov

IS THERE A PRO AMONG US THAT CAN HELP ME RESOLVE THIS ISSUE.

Thanks,
Richard

try a different time server
in the box where it said time.windows.com type in 132.163.4.103 then click
on update and it should work

This was found by everyone immediately after installing SP2.
Searching old postings via google can confirm all that.

I don't remember anyone ever tracking down what the cause was.
