Unable to Startup

This has just recently been happening, and I've tried every option that I can
think of.

When I start my computer, it will bring up the usual OS selection item when
I had to restart from a crash, and it will continue booting after I select an
option.

However, regardless of which OS option I choose, including the other options
available when you press F8, the screen will always get right to the XP
loading screen, with the blue bars scrolling across the bottom. and then it
restarts all on its own.
I've tried booting in safe mode, I've tried using the recovery console, I've
put in my XP pro disc and still no relief from this blasted situation.

Any help that is offered will be greatly appreciated.

That is a sure sign of hardware failure. The windows loading screen
first preloads all the drivers for the hardware responsible for
start-up and first then procceds to install the drivers for the
software. If your computer is restarting itself at the very first of
the windows loading screen, it suggests that there is a hardware
failure issue.

I would check out some things first...
1) enter the bios and check for overheating problems . The temps are
set for auto shutdown if reached high temps. If overheating then open
the case and look for fan failures or air flow blockage such as dust
built up on fan blades and blocking air holes and the likes of that.
2) while in the bios check for how much memory(ram) is suppose to be
installed. If less than what is known to be in there then you have
had a memory failure.
3) If you are running an overclocked system then you may have to reset
the bios to default and re do the overclocking to make your system to
become more stable.

i have i different suggestion. i deal with over 200 customers a week.
probably 30 of those customers have this exact problem. none of the options
in windows advanced options will allow the computer to boot without restart.
the advice we give is to resinstall windows or attempt a repair from the
windows disk. this has always fixed the problem when checking through call
logs they hardly ever call back. we believe that this is caused by an invalid
shutdown or a certain windows update hotfix component. either way i shall
watch this thread to see the outcome .

Okay... I can get Windows to run now, but some things are taking a long time
to run, or they lock up indefinitely. And, for some reason, I can't connect
to the net with that PC, even though when it initally was "fixed," I had no
troubles in that area.

I'm absolutely sure this has nothing to do with hardware failure or CPU
overheating, as everything is running within acceptable levels.

I'm hoping that a recovery will happen soon the next time I try to boot from
my CD.
