The Windows Installer service does not start automatically. When I tried to
start it, it said the path was incorrect. I know what the correct path is,
but I don't know how to modify it. Any words of wisdom?

Hi Ken,

See if this KB helps: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324516
Refer to the section which talks about fixing the "ImagePath" value

If that does not help, execute these two commands from Start, Run dialog:

msiexec /unregserver
msiexec /regserver
