Getting the following error message:

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'tEsting ', Account: 'O2
Email', Server: 'smtp.o2.co.uk', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No,
Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

It seems to work OK when I'm at home connecting (wirelessly) via o2, but
when away from home it doesn't.

Is is something to do with McAfee? Or is it that I need to be using a
different smtp address or whatever? If the latter, where/how do I find it
out???

Many thanks.

The latter.
It is not permitted to use your home SMTP server (port 25) while
away from home. For more on this policy see:
http://www.postcastserver.com/help/Port_25_Blocking.aspx

The available workarounds are as follows:
1. Use webmail for sending (via your browser).
2. Ask your home ISP if they have a port other than '25' for SMTP.
3. Substitute the SMTP server belonging to your current connection
(hard to do when you move around a lot).
4. If sending from multiple locations, get a free Gmail account,
configure it for POP access, and use it for your sending chores.
Gmail uses port 465 for SMTP, which is not blocked like port 25 is.
