Hi,

My email through vista has been down for 5 days. Nothing has changed except
for some updates. I am not receiving an error code. I am receiving email
and connecting to server on the receive side. Just nothing when I try to
send. I have removed any and all spyware to see if this helped and nothing.
I tried changing the port and nothing. I did the troubleshooting and still
nothing. I tried to restore to a previous date and it says I can't do that
either.

Thanks

When you try to send, where does the message go? Does it stay
in the Outbox or does it go into the Sent Items folder?
Which antivirus are you running?

I have the exact same issue. The message stays in the Outbox. I am running
Norton AV. I do have a message in the outbox that can't be deleted. I beleive
this is the casue of my troubles. You can't view the properties.and when I
try to delete it, it just opens anotehr instance of it; acts like a virus but
Norton scan says I have no virus.

I am also having the same problm. For the last week or two I have been
unable to send emails. I recieve fine. The messages stay in the outbox.
There is an original message in there that won't let me delete it and no
message attached. We've updaed everything we know and check the antivirus
(whichis through Comcast) and still I am unable to send. It is very
frustrating -- has anyone found the answer?

Messages may be stuck in the Outbox when you use Windows Mail on a computer
that is running Windows Vista
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941090
It also works on other folders.

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no protection not provided by the regular
resident protection.
Besides that, McAfee,Trend and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail
and Outlook Express and should be uninstalled. The latest version of
Trend's anti-virus seems to be causing problems too.
