Unable to select old Restore Point

As I have been experiencing a multitude of difficulties over the last few
days I thought I would use System Restore.
The April calender appears as expected but there are no restore points on it
so I click the arrow to select March but nothing happens.
The last time I used System Restore was probably 3 months ago.
Any ideas please?

System restore is probably corrupt, you'll have to turn it off, to remove
all restore points then re-enable.
