Unable to resolve the user name..

Dear Sir,

In our company we have upgraded the windows nt server in
to windows 2003.

When you goto security tab of the file folder, it is not
able to display the user name. It display only SID. This
is happening for some of the client m/cs. We tried with
deleting user name and created new one in active
directory, still the problem is existed. And unable to
find solution in technet. Please can you help us ASAP..

if you deleted user names in Active Directory and recreated then you have
totally screwed up the SID stuff. A user name has a unique SID. when you
delete it not matter what you do you can not recreate the user with the same
SID. you may have same everything else but not SID. In The security tab
you need to delete the old SID and replace with new user name
 
As this is an NT upgrade, you have probably not configured DNS properly. You
must use internal DNS server in all server and clients settings. Allso make
sure, that you have reverse lookup zone setup on your DNS server.
