I am running an Alienware, Area 51, everytime I boot from the OEM CD,
it installs a brand new version of WinXP. I never get the option to repair. I have no
problem deleting the new version, but I want to repair the old one so
I can keep my IE bookmarks, etc., I don't think it matters but, it has Athlon xp 1700,
Seagate Barracuda 40g HD, and 256 of pc2100. Cheers!
Thanks in advance,
Merry X-mas

Jim;
Different OEMs have their OEM CDs configured differently and some do
not have repair capability.
Contact the seller for details and options.

Originally I did have the option, but I hit enter to load a new copy instead of "r" to repair. After the new copy loaded I deleted the .0 windows files, and deleted the reference from the boot.ini. But now I reboot from the CD and the option to repair is gone. Is their anyway to force a repair?

If your OEM CD does not offer a repair option, why not export your favorites
to a floppy and back any other files to CD, or whatever medium would be
appropriate, and then do the re-installation?
