Unable to Remove or Delete a Program that has Spyware

Have detected spyware in program Kazaa Media Desktop. Want to delete so go to Remove Program in Control Panel. Click on Kazaa icon. Click Remove. Get window: Kazaa is running, please close it before continuing. Click OK, nothing happens, does not close kazaa, same window remains open and blinking. Click Cancel get: Setup is not complete..Are you sure you want to quit. Click yes;cycles back to change/remove. Click no;cycles back to:kazaa is running. Have tried other approaches but get window that says removal denied ??? Hey who's computer is this?? How do I fix this and Keep It From Happening again?

You have to close Kazaa, BEFORE you try to remove it, usually by right
clicking the icon in the system tray.
 
You also might want to use KazaLite instead, and don't upgrade when it
asks;this version doesn't install so much spyware.
You'll might also find that if you uninstall Media Desktop, Kazaa will then
not run
