I upgraded to XP and now want to upgrade to VirusScan
7.0, But XP won't allow the installation of the upgrade
because it detects the old version. It also won't allow
me to remove the old version. "Fatal error, file corrupt
on installation". How do I get rid of the old version?

did you disable the firewall first?

I had a problem with installing ver. 7 also in XP, what I did was
start up in safe mode and delete the old version from add/remove
programs and then went to program files and deleted the McAfee folder.
Then I rebooted as normal and installed it again and it worked
perfectly. If all else fails, go to the McAfee website and talk to the
online chat tech support and explain the problem. Hope this helps.
Good luck.
