unable to receive send email getting error msg

I have outlook XP and everything has been working fine for ages. now i keep
getting error message (0x800CCCOF). I have contacted my server and ISP but
they say it's not at their end. This has been going on for nearly 2 days now.
Can anyone please help me?

Try to disable the mail scanning(incoming and outgoing) and it can be one of
the listed,
*Anti Virus software scanning incoming and outgoing email messages.
*Firewall and Internet Security Software.
*Your computer has been disconnected from the Internet.
