When I open microsoft outlook it is unable to find my inbox. It says "unable
to display the folder". I cannot reeive email because it does not have an
inbox to go to. What happened? It's been working fine ever since it was set
up. i tried restoring to a previous date...no luck.

Does Outlook start in safe mode? (Start > Run > outlook.exe /safe > OK
button) The reason that I ask is that the view for that folder is
corrupted. It can be fixed by starting Outlook with the /cleanviews command
line switch. I will warn you that the /cleanviews command line switch will
delete all custom views and reset the built-in ones back to their default
state.

I must be doing something wrong because I am unable to open outlook in safe
mode. How exactly do you start outlook with the /cleanviews command line
switch?

When I got to start>run>outlook.exe/safe> I get the following message,
"windows cannot find outlook.exe/safe....."
