-----Original Message-----
My HD crashed and then the XP was reactivated on my
second HD which is now primary. Now I cannot install
CD/DVD oms. I keep getting errors -unable to load drivers-
code 39.
I am stuck with no way to use my CD drive and hence
unable to repair/reintall any programme including XP. I
have good internet connection.
Can I download a fix from someone or ??
Thanks.

.
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware.
The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
Reasons for this error include a driver that is not
present; a binary file that is corrupt; a file I/O
problem, or a driver that references an entry point in
another binary file that could not be loaded.
Uninstall the driver, and then click Scan for hardware
changes to reinstall or upgrade the driver.
I copied that from microsoft article from this address

In short it wants you to go to your device manager by
start > right click on my computer > properties >
hardware tab > device manager > + next to dvd/cd-rom >
right click on each of the drives > uninstall > when
propted do not restart till there all deleted(the last
one)(your problem may be it's tring to read them twice so
you have to delete them all then have it recognize them
all over again) > after restart(it should come up with
the wizard run it through) > if it doesn't come up go to
control panel(switch to classic view if you have to) >
add hardware, run the wizard it will recognize the drivers
then and you'll be able to use them.
