Unable to install printer

I'm using my computer to distribute my cable internet to
two other computers. I'm trying to install a new printer
on my machine and cannot. When I select "add a printer"
the response is "Operation could not be completed". When
I try to use the Add New Hardware Wizard the response I
get is "RPC server is unavailable". Any help or advice
would be valuable.

I'm getting the same message: "RPC server is
unavailable". I'd also appreciate some help, because it's
confusing, and I can barely find any information about
RPC (maybe I'm looking in the wrong place?)
