Unable to install CD or drivers In XPSP2

After updateing to sp2 my pc will not allow installation of the scanner and
printer cd or downloaded new updated drivers. Windows send up message:-- "
The system is not suitable for running MS-dos and microsoft windows
application". I have no idea why this is happening or what it means but it is
blocking the installation of drivers downloaded from Epson and the install
disc from HP. Any answers out there??

It sounds like you have the Prescott-C issue, see my
answer to "Scanner no longer works with Windows XP" for
more info.
