Unable to find WAB.DLL ????????

Having a problem with Outlook. Can't send out emails from my outlook ....
Message :"Unable to update public free/busy data. Unable to find WAB.DLL."
 
Post your version.
No current versions of Outlook use the WAB.
Why don't you turn off the update free/busy option?

sorry I forgot to mention that this outlook is on a standalone machine with
no exchange server. All it does is down/upload to a SBC account.

Which mail support mode?
Why are you using Internet Free/busy?
 
Not at machine right now but the support mode is the default that you get
when you install Outlook from office 2000 professional.
not using the internet free busy deliberately this just started the other
day.

Are you trying to access the contact list. Did you use OE before. Did you
Export from OE and Import from OL the *.wab that is used by OE

First I'd turn off IFB.
Next, you'll need to repair OE, not Outlook. Rename any WAB32.DLL files and
repair or reinstall OE.

It's also used by Outlook in IMO.
But the repair must be done by repairing OE.

how do I turn off IFB this is a standalone outlook with no exchange server.
It's only used to get at a pop3 server at SBCameritech.
how do I de install OE and then reinstall?

Look around. You'll find it.
That version is too old for me to remember. It's usually part of the
Calendar options.

I thought I'd give back the the group by posting how this was resolved.

I followed the advice and de installed outlook express by going to the
control panel/add remove programs/windows components/un check outlook
express/ok
rebooted ( just in case it makes a difference)
tried to send email from outlook 2000 same problem.
RE installed outlook express control panel/add remove programs/windows
components/CHECK outlook express/ok
tried to send email from outlook 2000 same problem.
went to microsoft.com/ie and reinstalled the latest service pack
rebooted
tried to send email from outlook 2000 SUCCESS!!!

I would like to thank all the folks that helped me out and to say that it
takes a special kind of idiot to share DLL's with outlook express AND
outlook 2000.
