unable to empty the deleted items in outlook 2003

Hi,

My deleted items has large no of mails.
I'm unable to empty the deleted items in my outlook while I'm getting the
error as outlook has not finished synchronizing local changes made to this
folder.

Which suggests you'll have to wait until the synchronization finishes.
Otherwise, it could indicate a corruption in your ost-file but without any
details about your configuration or the issue, it is hard to say.
