I split my hard disc (Dell Inspiron Dual Core laptop) into 2 partitions.
Installed vista fine on the first partition.

Then booted from the xp disk and installed XP.

Reboot, and only XP comes up - no option for vista.

Ho Hum, 2 hours wasted. Lets try putting vista back on the first partition.
Installed fine. Reboot.....

No XP!!!

I can see the 2 partitions with all their seperate files but I cannot get
the dual boot option up.

Any thoughts?

Simple, always install the newest OS latest. Vista knows about XP but XP
cannot know about Vista.

Stephen

Download VistaBootPro (its free). Use it to write the necessary boot changes
and you'll be OK.

Here's a triple-boot example:- (actually the XP leads to seperat English and
Spanish boots)

There are a total of 3 OSes installed into the boot manager.
Current timeout before default boots: 30 seconds.
