Ramesh,
Thanks for your input, however, my system is up to date with downloads,
which is a fortunate thing, since I can't download ANYTHING. Also, the
article you reference doesn't apply to this situation. The error message is
different.
Any other thoughts?
Thanks,
Rich

Ramesh,
I have been having a similar problem & tried the solution here, however,
Windows XP Home would not let me delete any of the mentioned files. I could
empty them, however, it didn't have any effect on the problem.
Any other ideas?
I'm seeing a lot of posts with this topic, and am wondering if it is a new
flaw in IE6 that is not yet addressed! If so, it is very disheartening, as
I've spent many days & hours trying to find a solution with nothing yet in
sight. Am considering reformatting my hard drive & doing a clean reinstall,
however, if the problem is IE6, that probably won't solve anything. I'm not
a techie, and just want a computer to use as a tool, not one that uses me!
PLEASE, SOMEONE HELP US.
Any assistance is appreciated.

When I try and download anything i get the following
error in a warning box.
"Internet explorer cannot download ... from ... com
Internet explorer was not able to open this internet
site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot
be found. Please try again later"
I have been trying to open pdfs and am not downloading
anything from untrusted sources. My security settings
seem to be ok and I am not behind a firewall and have a
virus checker too.
Anybody got any ideas?
Many thanks
David
