Unable to debug

I have several databases using access XP, but one of them I cannot step
through the code in debug mode - have I inadvertantly switched this off?

Might it be a .MDE file, for which the source code has been removed?

No - its a mdb - I can see the code and can add to and alter the VBA, but if
I Toggle the break point it is just ignored - ie the code runs straight past
it without stopping
