Hello all,
I am attempting to import a registry file that will add registry keys
and values to HKEY_USERS, and the error I receive is:
Cannot import c:\temp\foo.reg. Error writing to the registry.
I then attempted to simply add the key to HKEY_USERS, and the error I
receive is:
Cannot create key. Error writing to the registry.
I'm signed on as Administrator, and the Administrator's account has
`Full Control' permission of HKEY_USERS. I've included the Registry
Editor component in my target image, and I have no dependency errors
or warnings.
I don't see any postings here that appear to resolve this problem, nor
did I find anything in the XP Embedded Tips. Other posting to other
groups and sites indicate that the problem could be the permissions
not allowing write access to that part of the registry, but `Full
Control' implies write permission, doesn't it?
Any assistance that you can offer will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bill.
