Unable to contact windows update

When I try to open windowsupdate.microsoft.com, I get
another address which blinks back and forth in the
address window. I don't know if it is spyware, a virus,
or what. The second address it switches back and forth
with (at about 1/2 second intervals) stalling the access
is:

http://v4windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp

Has anyone had this problem, and how is it cured?

That looks normal to me. Do you have a firewall installed that might
be blocking Windows Update somehow?
