Unable to connect to server

Ive been using Outlook 2000 with WinME for several years
without a problem. Recently I have been unable to connect
to the mail server to download mail; I receive the
following error message: Unable to connect to the server.
(Account"'myaccountname', POP3 Server:'serverbane', Error
Number: 0x800ccc0e). This started occuring after I
installed Norton Internet Security, but that does not seem
to be problem (I can't connect to server even when NIS is
shut down).

Any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks.

I am frustrated with the same problem, except my message
is:
The connection to the server has failed.
Account: '(e-mail address removed)', Server: 'mail.nvws.net',
Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error:
10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Please help! Desperate to connect to email!
