Use Win 2000 Pro on my pc - trying to share printer (lpt1)
and files on my wife's pc. Worked good util last week
when I upgraded her Win 98 (ver 2) to XP Home Edition.

I have checked permissions, turned off Internet Connection
Firewall on the XP operating system. Can see her pc in
Explorer and also in Add Printer Wizard - but am not able
to connect to her pc.

Might there be a way to solve this problem

What happens when you try to browse a folder on the remote PC?

Dave

The system tells me that the connection failed and that
the drive is unavailable.
Anything in the eventlog of the remote system to indicate
an access attempt? Failure in security?

Dave

You might need to add the usernam
that you use, to her pc
Make sure the password is the same

Also, right click on her printe
and set it as shared.
