Good day,
I'm having a problem with random machines in our network.
They spontaneously are unable to sign onto the network.
When I log onto the local machine as administator, the
Domain Name has a .*** after it. I try to delete this part
of the name and get an error that states,

The domain name ***** might be a NetBIOS domain name. If
this is the case, verify that the domain name is properly
registered with WINS.

If you are certain that the name is not a NetBIOS domain
name, then the following information can help you
troubleshoot your DNS configuration.

An error occurred when DNS was queried for the service
location (SRV) resource record used to locate a domain
controller for domain *****.

The error was: "No DNS servers configured for local
system."
(error code 0x0000267C DNS_ERROR_NO_DNS_SERVERS)

The query was for the SRV record for
_ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs.******

Any ideas what this is or why it is happening?

Thanks,
ergeordie

Hello,

Please make sure that the DHCP Client service is started.

Also have you have Trend Micro's Personal Firewall or Zone Alarm disable
software, disable them and reboot and than test.

You can also try adding an lmhost file to these machines.

Thank You.

Diana.
