select the column with dd/mm/yy, do data>text to columns, click next twice
under column data format select date and scroll to DMY, click finish
This assumes that your regional settings are mm/dd/yy

Hi, I am trying to change date format from dd/mm/yy to mm/dd/yy but am
couple of things
firstly, go into format / cells / number - and GENERAL, under sample you
should see a number like 38154 - this means that excel recognises it as a
date - if you don't get this and you see dd/mm/yy then excel thinks your
dates are text ... depending on how many you have like this there's a number
of different methods of fixing them (check out Debra Dalgleish's site http://www.contextures.com/xlDataEntry03.html for some of these)
now if it is a date then try clicking on CUSTOM and typing (small white box
right hand side)
mm/dd/yy and pressing OK
if that doesn't work it could be a "regional settings" think under your
control panel.
let us know how you go.
Cheers
