Windows XP Professional
When adding new port in Printer properties, the
following message is appeared:

Specified port cannot be added. The port is already
exists.

The error messages are appeared on any names I entered.

List of ports:
LPT1, LPT2, LPT3, COM1 to COM5, USB, USB001, Another two
local ports, two Standard TCP/IP ports, many LAN Manager
Printer port

Please advise

My guess is that your trying to add a port that already exists? Are you trying to enter the port names you listed below, or are you saying that if you enter any port name, such as "Foo" that it fails? When installing the printer you should select from the list provided, or if you are changing the port via the printer properties tab then you just click on the check box. You should only use the "Add Port" button if the port doesn't already exist, such as if you are installing a new network printer. Every local port that is installed on your printer should already show in the list.

I failed to add any port name althoug it does not exist.
Actually, I have problem in sending a document through
efax. One of the solution from eFax Support is to create a
new local port. Then, I found that I cannot add any port
in my current system. Please advise.
